re: "(NYSE: AMD - news) today announced a definitive agreement pursuant to which Lattice Semiconductor will acquire Vantis Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of AMD, for $500 million in cash."

Now let us keep our priorities straight: First, Jerry gets a new LIMO, that should run well less than $150,000.00 leaving most of the Half of a Billion Dollars in cash for such things as equipment for Dresden facility and other places, further aggressive funding of R&D, and the paying down of debt. HHHHHMMMM? Maybe the stock will go up a might from here.

Eliminating some FUD can have a non-linear impact of the perception of value of an issue. Even the cynics should see that the market has discounted the value of AMD more than the sum of its parts should allow. That assumes that some logic will prevail, often a silly assumption in places such as the stock market.
