Tom you bring up an interesting topic. With electronic trading, people are a -lot- more likely to buy same price, sell same price. In the past, your broker would want you to "sit on it" for a while.."don't churn it". I have many times put in a limit price, only to have the price get away from me. I have cancelled the trade, rather than chase it, but more importantly, I know if it is headed back "south", I don't want my order filled on a declining stock at my original price!
