The ambiance is everything, almost. The wading is fun and the perspective is unique, but I do enjoy catching the fish also. Beer is more for fishing when you are in a boat -- that's fun, too, but not as solitary -- which is also one of the attractions.

I went deep sea fishing once. Everyone on the boat except the crew and me were violently ill. Repeatedly. When I got off the boat, I pointed my finger at myself and said "I want you to remember how bad this was. Never do it again"
