I heard Janet Reno express her opinion and for once I agree with her. Kid's that are different or having problems should be identified and helped.

It was a regularly scheduled board meeting and the gun-toting issue was already on the agenda but, before yesterday, it was felt the board would table the issue until a later meeting as there was a split among the board members and not enough votes to pass the motion. There were 3 in favor of letting all security personnel carry guns, 3 against and one who wanted to limit the gun carrying to a select group of officers at specific schools that are considered to be more at risk. Then this thing happened yesterday and one of the against changed her mind and the one who preferred limiting the gun carriers moved to table until the next meeting because he was convinced that to vote on the issue last night would be seen as a knee jerk reaction. That motion failed, then the board voted 4-3 in favor of arming all the security officers at all schools. And we still are looking for a superintendent.

IMHO, increasing security isn't the answer. It may keep some kids from bringing weapons to school, but the kids who do these terrible things have demonstrated that they don't really care if they get caught and mostly seem to be trying to attract attention.

Rambi,

Could you ask Drygulch Dan to take a look at the lineup the Cardinals fielded against Milwaukee today and offer his learned opinion as to whether it may have been the worst lineup ever fielded by a major league team for a regular season game?

Taht is all.
