Hi John,

I just listened to the replay and made a PureVoice recording of it that I could eMail to anyone who wants it (along with the URL for the free PureVoice player / recorder). The file is about 2.5MB.

General impression matched yours. Sounds like quite good progress continues to be made on all fronts.

Summary of my Notes:

The sale of 2 epi systems to MSA <??? - don't recognize this company, so I probably heard it wrong> if counted in this quarter would have resulted in MTSN making the estimate. If I heard correctly, accounting for the purchase of Concept Designs caused these systems to be recorded back in July 1998 rather than in the quarter that they were delivered and sold.

That sounds like a weird nuance of Purchase Accounting GAAP rules that I hadn't encountered before.

Very nice improvement in GM to 51%. I find this quite encouraging.

Strip: Completed a joint development with a large US Logic Manufacturer related to low K dielectrics. This sounds like Cu processing. Could MTSN be referring to IBM??? That would be a very nice coup. But I'd accept INTC. ;-)

Plus a sale to a new US Logic Foundry. Who is that?

70% of Strip went to customers in US and Europe. Sounds like MTSN continues to win customers from GSNX...

CVD: Added a European customer with a multiple system order.

RTP: Multiple systems accepted by 2 customers in less than 13 days - a record.
Quote activity increasing.

EPI: $5M in orders already returns the purchase price for Hine Designs.

OUTLOOK: DRAM - very strong. This sounds superb for both MTSN and the sector, in general.

Foundry: Coming back to life.

Visibility: 1 quarter. Most customers looking for "turns" - same quarter delivery that order is given.
