Doesn't IBM make chips for IDT? If IBM does it, I wonder where that would leave the Winchip. Also, since IBM uses AMD chips, and AMD chips obviously sell REALLY well in the retail market, I doubt IBM would want to stop putting them in their PCs. One possible scenario is IBM could hand over its retail and corporate PC business to Dell (since Gerstner thinks the PC is dead and they already have a deal w/Dell), but Dell doesn't use AMD chips at all. Whatever ends up happening, if IBM buys Cyrix I bet there will be an overlap somewhere.
