If I may be permitted to characterize much of your what you're saying, it's that "Apple has screwed up so bad for so long, it's hard not to believe they wont screw this up too."

Except I'm not really saying that. All I'm saying is that Apple has to demonstrate an ability to form meaningful and productive partnerships. They haven't thus far. I'm still waiting to see if they will.

I think you mean that the other way around. In any case, here's
AAPL's numbers comparing G3/OSX vs. a Dell/Linux vs. SUNW/Solaris running Apache:

OK, I think that you're now the one missing the forest for the trees. You keep wanting to debate technology, and I'm not even stressing that issue. Whether or not QT4 is superior to .ram is not the point. This market space is not just about technology, it's about partnerships and the perception of the public. Right now, the market's perception is: RNWK is the technology leader, with MSFT close behind. Apple only just recently added streaming to QT4 -- it was originally a desktop-oriented format.

Don't agree with me? It effectively doesn't matter whether it's correct -- this is how the market currently sees things.

What's RNWK got to sell for this price?

Well... Doesn't seem to matter, does it? ;-)

Cesare

PS: Don't get me wrong -- I've been an Apple afficionado for a long time. I've just learned not to get my hopes up. :-)
