Thanks for the reponses, I have heard for years that the trade gap is bad news...yet I don't see any evidence of it....I definitely thought that U.S. deficit spending and the resultant buying of Treasuries by Japan and other countries was definitely dangerous to our economy....but an expansion of the worldwide market fueled initially by a lot of American consumers would seem to be bad only if it reduced American jobs....with uneployment at these levels, I don't see that as the result.
