I don't know why the 144's, but it is likely that the shareholders are preparing to take a profit. You've read the ASTN thread, right? This post sums it up for me:

The filing of 144s is a very bullish sign---if you are an insider
and you know the stock is going to move out,you sure want the paper work done that will let you be able to make some bucks--these are not fat cats in this company,it is their reasonable right to take some profits---Max90
