LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 1999--

The Lysis iDTV Software platform receives significant endorsement
as the Company announces key partnerships and integrations with
Oracle, Compaq, NCI, DiviCom and Thomcast

Swiss-based digital TV software provider Lysis is demonstrating at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas the industry's leading open software platform for managing cable, satellite, terrestrial and telecommunications broadcast service operations. At the Lysis booth in the Sands Expo Center (S1235), best-in-class hardware and software products from Oracle, Compaq, NCI, DiviCom and Thomcast can also be seen integrated with the Lysis iDTV platform. (See related announcements.)
In a joint demonstration at NAB with Compaq (Booth S6938), Oracle (Booth S3359) and Lysis the three companies are demonstrating a pre-integrated solution comprising Compaq's industry-leading MediaCentral media archiving application and AlphaServer 4100 platform, Oracle's industry-leading Oracle Video Server and Oracle8 database and Lysis' powerful iDTV broadcast scheduling and management software.

The Lysis iDTV platform enables and enhances the full life cycle of DTV service management from content acquisition, to service and delivery management, and statistical market feedback analysis, minimizing operational costs for the operator, and providing the framework to add interactive services for increased revenue opportunities.

"Today's broadcasters who are expanding in the digital domain need to be able to focus on positive ways to differentiate themselves from the competition," said John Moroney, principal consultant, new media at Ovum, a leading IT, telecom and new media independent research consultant firm. "DTV solutions like the one presented by Compaq, Oracle and Lysis give broadcasters the ability to design and deliver new services with a minimum time-to-market. With offerings like this, the focus becomes revenue generation rather than technology integration."

Also at the show, Network Computer, Inc. (NCI) and Lysis announced a strategic alliance that integrates the advanced Lysis iDTV service management software platform with NCI's client-server software platform. The combined platform will enable both companies to offer network operators a standards-based, ready-to-deploy digital television and Internet solution. In the Lysis booth, the two companies are demonstrating NCI's ConnectServer including the Mediacast Server component integrated with the Lysis iDTV platform, which allows network operators to insert Internet content from multiple sources into the television broadcast. This solution will enable network operators to plan, schedule and manage all their digital and Internet based assets.

Singularis, a software company with expertise in personalization and profiling technology for the broadcast market, announced with Lysis a joint effort to create the world's first comprehensive suite of rules-based content delivery and recommendation technologies for the television industry. Singularis demonstrated, in the Lysis booth, its unique personalization platform designed to enable television providers to tailor TV content based on each viewer's personal tastes and preferences.

DiviCom , Inc. and Lysis announced a partnership to provide a sophisticated network management solution based on the integration of the Lysis iDTV platform and the DiviCom THESYS family of network management solutions. In both the Lysis and DiviCom (S3353) booths, the companies are demonstrating the automated control of a DiviCom digital compression system, Lysis and Thomcast announced an effort to provide digital broadcast operators with a new platform to take advantage of datacasting service opportunities for business TV, enhanced TV and IP over MPEG-2. Thomcast will integrate its advanced Opal IP to MPEG-2 gateway with OpenMux Technology, and the Quartz SI DVB-SI Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) management system with the Lysis iDTV broadcast management software platform. This solution is being demonstrated in both the Lysis and the Thomcast (LVCC No. 18 818) booths at the show.
