Amots,

After learning about the female SD cream in March and today about the PE product going into phase II, I think Vivus is an absolute joke at $5/share.

Compare the fundamentals of Vivus now to all the ED plays (ICOS, ZONA, MCHM, SNTKY) and tell me where the REAL promise is.

Even compare Vivus to other small cap biotech stocks with a similar number of shares outstanding and compare the fundamentals. I always like to use CEPH or LIPO. Look at those two small cap biotechs:

CEPH-closed today at 11 7/8-FY 1999 estimates for a loss of $1.36-FY 2000 estimates for a loss of $1.16-shares outstanding 28.8M.

LIPO-closed today at 10 15/16-FY 1999 estimates for $0.11-FY 2000 $0.30-shares outstanding 38.4M.

IMO Vivus is a STEAL at 5 bucks!!!

Amots,

Since you mentioned ICOS I just had to do a tiny bit of DD on it and get a few laughs! Let's take a peak at ICO:

First some basic facts:

Shares Outstanding 42.7 million.

FY 1999 estimates for a loss of $1.38/share

FY 2000 estimates for a loss of $2.14/share

Closing price of 35 7/8, 52 week high of 40 7/8, 52 week low of 13

Now here is the press release regarding Lilly and the tons of cash they infused into ICOS:

businesswire.com

So in other words Lilly was willing to invest $75M on a product that is only in phase II trials with an agreement if further research milestones are met. And if this product ever does reach market it will indeed compete head to head with Viagra not MUSE.

As DaiS pointed out the other day:

Message 9025198

Seems to me that this ICOS stock is riding the wave of Viagra and the fact that Billy Gates has a hand in it. But what does Bill Gates really know about biotechnology any way? I know it is a safe thing to know that if your company is not doing well that the richest man in the world is a board member and majority share holder. He can always pump a few extra million in no matter how unpromising the fundamentals.

IMO our main problem is our incompetent CEO. We now have MUSE/Alibra and two potential block busters in the female SD product and the male PE product. So why can't Lee cut a deal?????? What has he been doing over the past 9 1/2 months to earn the 400k salary he gets? So far I would say I see nothing in terms of productivity. How much more time are we share holders supposed to give him to be able to negotiate for a domestic partner?

If we don't have a partner VERY SOON then good ol Lee will have a lot of answering to do come June 8. That's only 6 weeks from now. Be there or be square.

Amots,

I remember that you were the one who broke the female SD patent info about a whole week before Vivus told the world:

Message 8125256

Can you play around on that company sleuth site and see if they already have the PE patent granted???

These stupid morons probably will wait again before releasing vital news. I will be curious as to how many days they will sit on the information before releasing it to the investment community?
