Any predictions on how much the I* "earnings" report next week and 5/31/99 subscriber/loan covenant deadline will drag on G* share price over the next 3-4 weeks? Anyone want to pick a date for the bottom in 5-6/99? I would like to pick up one more traunch of G* going into the 6/99 ads, 7/1 32-sat milestone, Summer 1999 beta testing and 9-10/99 roll-out.

*ICO* With $2bn already down the gurgler and a total of $4.5bn or so total capital to create it, I suppose it is going to go ahead. For the expenditure of another $2bn or so, they can have a live system. So if they cancel now, they lose $2bn. If they spend another $2bn, they'll be able to operate a system and lose money. It seems that this is fitting the Eurotunnel/Iridium model. The contractors make a lot of money. Those on the gravy train draw their salaries. The iniital shareholders get cleaned out. The banks get most of their money back but interest might be doubtful. The assets are transferred to new shareholders who slash prices per minute and go on to make a good lot of money. The subscribers are very happy.

A bit rough and inaccurate, but more or less like that.

Anyone think they'll cancel the system? I'm starting to doubt it. They'd have to swallow hard to admit they've blown $2bn. Easier to do like Iridium.

I sense a price war coming! Every man [and shareholder] for himself. There are going to be umpty billion minutes for sale by the end of 2000. Luckily Globalstar has cheap, high quality minutes for sale.
