Did IBM not develop the PCs , a multi-billion dollar industry. Didn't a second company join the competition for a piece of the multi-billion dollar pie, followed by a third and a fourth etc etc.

EBAY is in a trillion dollar industry. Do you not think there is room for another company. Maybe even a third or a fourth. Considering that EBAY is trading at nearly $300, do you not think that investing in a similar start-up (in business 2 yrs) company at a fraction of the cost of EBAY be worth the investment. Yes it is a gamble, but so are most of the net stocks. Think of the growth potential if this company attains just 10% of EBAY.

In my PC example, do you remember DELL. With exception of last qtr. it's share have increased 12,000% in 3-4 years.
