"If you believe those stories then I'm afraid you deserve to lose your money. Sorry. "

I've seen that before....I belive someone said that about e-bay. I have bought a number of great silver items there, and to date EVERYONE HAS DELIVERED AS PROMISED.

As for e-gold, don't worry....I won't send them $100K on the first deposit! One step at a time....

"Furthermore, to function as a bank, as they are, requires a charter and approval of some government. "

They are not a bank. The just do storage & act as a clearing house for payments.

"And don't, for a moment, believe they are in the US. "

They are in the US...it's a Delaware Corp.

"As it is, you don't know who these guys are, where they are, or even if they are doing what they say they are doing. "

I will take delivery of some of the metal to see if it is "real"....

Brother Searle.....try something new.....you might like it!

Does it sound like he's saying the bottom has been seen?
Angloforges $20 billion-a-year sales giant

"Johannesburg-based Anglo, ruled by the Oppenheimer family, has dominated South African business for eight decades and its decision to move headquarters and primary listing to London just four years into black majority rule has led to some criticism.
The company argues the move is necessary to access capital more cheaply and secure a leading position in the global mining industry.
Chairman Julian Ogilvie Thompson said the new-look Anglo -- which is expected to enter the top half of the UK's FTSE 100 index in June -- would be able to compete more effectively around the world and exploit new opportunities.
''As one of the world's leading mining and natural resource companies we will be well placed to take advantage of opportunities at the low points in the commodities cycles,'' he said."
