Looks like Ethiopia-Eritrea has spilled over into Somalia and perhaps also, Sudan. stratfor.com

What? Another 3rd party attack from the cowardly Allen? How unusual. Glad to see you still doing such a good job "ignoring" me, Allen. I give you credit for taking a relatively conventional line on Kosovo, though, do you think Vaughn, who's preaching "Let's lose one for Clinton" or Ish with his grave concern for the Russia "sphere of influence" will back you up?

<<I have actually been on the Kosovo thread and I have stated clearly that while I think the entrance into Kosovo was flawed and wrongheaded, I believe now we must do all we can to win, win convincingly and win quickly. >>

I think the possibility of a quick win has passed us by. We had a chance over Easter when the Serbs blinked and stopped fighting for 6 days. There might have been a glimmer of hope for a settlement involving the Russians and the UN at that point. But no, Clinton doubles his bombing runs and turned away from any negotiations. That boy is having too much fun bombing Yugoslavia to rubble.

Get ready for 200,000 troops to be sent in and the fighting to spill into Hungry. This will be a headache for whomever is elected in 2,000.

We certainly disagree on Kosovo. The war is already lost. All NATO's objectives have failed, with the cleansing now complete.

The next war, which Clinton was more than happy to start more than a week ago, purports to attempt to regain Kosovo for its former inhabitants and establish some sort of self governing. This requires our forces to invade Yugoslavia and somehow seize control. I, for one, do not believe there is any U.S. national interest at stake in such a mission. It is time to withdraw.

I have made this view abundantly clear here and on the Kosovo thread, where Shemp is so fearful of wandering.
