Tim A.--part of a satellite story:

20 April 1999

Tachyon, Inc., a San Diego-based satellite company, is set to
launch what is claims is a unique broadband Internet access via
satellite service in Europe and the U.S. this summer.

The Tachyon.Net service is claimed to be unique, because
according to Wim Vink, the European managing director of
Tachyon, it will provide broadband access on both the up- and
downlinks. The service promises connection to the Internet at
speeds of up to 45 Mbps on the uplink and up to 256 kbps on
the downlink.

Tachyon plans to launch the service in the U.S. in July and in
the U.K., Germany, Italy, France, Belgium and the Netherlands in
Europe in August, but as of yet has not finalized any licensing
agreements.
