Anaxagoras, thanks for the link. I checked Southeast Research Partners and found two secondaries they helped underwrite in the last 2 years:

ESNJ, 7/98, they were a minor part of the underwriting syndicate
VII, 2/98 they were listed as the second of two underwriters

In both cases:
* the companies were tiny (market caps are presently under $40 M)
* the stock fell after the prospectus came out.

For the most part, Southeast seems to be involved in private placements. They don't have much experience with offerings.
