MK,

PE - Leland not bullshitting!!

Primature ejaculation incidence matches ED....could be very big market.

eg

AMERICAN JOURNAL OF MEDICINE, 1998, Vol.105, No.2, pp.135-144
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the most common sexual problem in men, after premature ejaculation, affecting up to 30 million in the United States. ......

FAMILY PRACTICE, 1998, Vol.15, No.6, pp.519-524
...... The subjects were 789 men and 979 women who responded to the questionnaire..... A third of men (34%) and two-fifths of women (41%) reported having a current sexual problem. The most common problems were erectile dysfunction (n = 170) and premature ejaculation (n = 88) in men; in women the most widely reported problems were vaginal dryness (n = 186) and infrequent orgasm (n = 166)....

JOURNAL OF PUBLIC HEALTH MEDICINE, 1997, Vol.19, No.4, pp.387-39
One hundred and seventy patients attending a general practice participated in a questionnaire survey of the prevalence and characteristics of sexual problems. ....... Thirty five per cent of the men (n = 22) reported some form of specific sexual dysfunction: premature ejaculation was identified in 31 per cent of the men; 17 per cent experienced erectile dysfunction.....

EVERYONE...BUY, BUY, BUY, now before supply of Vivus shares runs out!!

There are many studies on the testing of antidepressants eg SSRIs for treatment of PE.

However many of these drugs cause ED! And who really wants to take an oral antidepressant for premature ejaculation with other side effects?

Could the new drug Vivus has acquired rights to be for transurethral therapy for PE not ED??

Effects of SSRIs on sexual function: A critical review
JOURNAL OF CLINICAL PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY, 1999, Vol.19, No.1, pp.67-85

The incidence of antidepressant-induced sexual dysfunction is difficult to estimate because of the potentially confounding effects of the illness itself, social and interpersonal comorbidities,
medication effects, and design and assessment problems in most
studies. Estimates of sexual dysfunction vary from a small
percentage to more than 80%. ...... Among the sexual side effects most
commonly associated with SSRIs are delayed ejaculation and
absent or delayed orgasm. ......

Mkilloran,

Anyone of the three would have been acceptable.

Leland didn't mention even trying to make a profit. He said, their goal was to break even. That means, not lose any money. He also didn't mention anything about shareholder value, but by now it's obvious he doesn't care about shareholder value.
