All...Some tidbits on emachines. "PC Data's February 1999 market share report shows emachines with a 9.9 % retail desktop share, taking over the position previously held by Packard-Bell, and less than 1% point behind IBM which presently is at number three with a 10.7% share." e4me.com " "They will collide with the big boys, particularly so, when they move into the $599 price point," says IDC analyst Bruce Stephen. Already it is beginning to happen; IBM has recently introduced a bare-bones machine for $599." forbes.com Cyrix is working closely with emachines in order to reduce costs. The big boys obviously see this as a threat. Is IBM going to screw emachines?
