<email virus>

<<Email virus --

Not exactly true, if you are not using MS windows, opening an email WILL release
virus. Such system can be UNIX/VMS/etc....>>>>

Certain viri can be embeded into the header of an email and are executed automatically via active X in MS Windows .
The header is the first thing read when you check your mail, and is read automatically.

Both MS and Netscape have documented cases of system commands being executed when a browser reads the header from an email.
This has nothing to do with attachments, they are a different beast.

Best advice... always keep your browser current and patched with updates, and delete attachments unknown to you.

best wishes,
Maximum_Gain

Lucky, I know nothing of other systems, so will defer to your experience. Henceforth I shall limit my derision of the existence of such a virus to MS OS's. I hate to admit it, but I was being rather MScentric.
