Someone has beaten me over the head with that 'fact' every year since the 80's. In the meantime I have over 10 gigs of compressed stuff for my mac, can run windows 98 faster than many folks who have Wintel platforms, and I can't find a damn thing worth running at Comp USA for VPC that isn't already on the Mac.

Give it a rest.

Whoever told you to do some research made a good suggestion. Since the introduction of the iMac, the "disturbing" trend has been reversed. More developers are now writing software for the Mac platform again.
You should check out AAPL...the stock is trading at a forward PE of about 12, and they've been profitable for six straight quarters. Their stock is quite undervalued.
