Kowboy,We BOTH have the right to relay information to this board, as that is what it is here for, right? Not quite right, Kowboy. You BOTH have the right to post factual information here. And it is customary to back up your facts by referencing a public source where all concerned can verify your information. Speculation should be clearly identified as such within the post. If a poster were to be shorting the stock, and if his/her information were tainted, and if s/he weren't quoting sources in the public domain, then one could reasonably conclude that s/he has a financial incentive to post untruths regarding the share price of this stock. This could be construed as manipulation and s/he would (at the very minimum) face an investigation by the proper authorities and possibly a civil lawsuit. Without financial incentives, it's unlikely that any authorities would be interested in this person. However, they would be most interested in the content of his/her messages. On the other hand, if a poster was long the stock, and if s/he was posting speculation or other tainted information as facts (they can't take it back later and say it was a misunderstanding; the market has already reacted to the information), and if they aren't posting information found in the public domain, then one could reasonably conclude that they have certain financial incentives regarding the share price of this stock. This could be construed as manipulation and they would likely face agency investigations, and likely civil lawsuits as well. If everyone sticks to verifiable facts in the public domain, then they're on very solid footing. Otherwise, they're jumping on very thin ice. KJC
