....we anticipate becoming more bullish around August....

That is assuming there is any thing left by then.

John, I hear you. The weird thing is, I thought the "bullish in August" statement was the most sense I've seen out of the guy in a while. Total overgeneralization and oversimplification coming up, but since they became a major vendor, the stock's had a tendency to make 2-year peak-to-peak/trough-to-trough moves August/Sept. (Oct. 8th not withstanding). If it's hanging near a low during this period, historically it hasn't been a bad bet. This time maybe the cycle gets cut in half. And then there are all sorts of reasons why it doesn't play out that way, etc.

But when you mention the fall tout fests, I started to think of another somewhat cyclical event as well - the Robbie Stephens Conference. And I think that's the last week of July. Let's see...April, MAy, June, July, August...hey, how about that.

Yet another possible reason for him to expect to be bullish come August.

He's earned that type of cynicism many times over.

Hey, add this to the "It'll Take a Nation of Analysts to Hold Us Up" charity benefit album (current cuts are "Smells Like Street Research" and "I Can't Hold 55")

Darling don't you go and cut your buy
Do you think that's gonna make things change?
You're just a schnook with a sharp salesforce
(And that's a pretty sharp salesforce)
Research that's a puzzle
Should be in a muzzle
Don't hesitate to die
Well look around, look around
The tippee was just found
Keep smiling as you drown.

Brokerage scene's crazy
Calls come out, each and every day
I heard another one just the other day
"This morning's big call..."
Not saying that they're liars
I'm saying that they're lies
I'm saying that they're lies
But I don't care
I care
I really don't care
