Cameron, this sounds like a movie script. Have you considered writing as a career?

>>I think it is pretty clear what the market dynamics are here...
Canadians loaded up on stock and given recent performance likely overextended themselves on margin... in anticipation of a large and rapid gap up. Given the TSE volumes it is no doubt that a large number of Cdn. investors were in over $25 or there abouts.

Canadians trading on the TSE aren't used to or even aware of MM games. When they drove down the price a lot of people got hurt and either sold out to cut losses or had margin calls. This of course becomes a downward spiral... too much selling!!! And who wants to buy a stock in a downward spiral ... not enough buying. Everyone's waiting for the bottom.

Now the prices may have bottomed out and the USA market is open - more than 10x the # of investors of Canada... if you value it based on potential revenue streams like uBid, etc. it is a bargain... big USA demand. Once the signs become clear, all the Canadians who made a bundle on Bids as it sky rocketed the first time will be wanting back in. I'm sure this is still the most watched stock up here for a lot of people... big Canadian demand. And now all the selling is over... the margin calls have been made, etc..... reduced supply.

Not to say that the MM's are finished... but I would think much smoother sailing from here on in.
