Re: Energizer,

Today's announcement is not exactly new. I cited a NY Times story about batteries in the "Circuits" section some months ago which mentioned their plans to stop making rechargeable batteries. (Darned if I can find my post, but I think the story ran Nov. 19, 1998.)

Combined with yesterday's announcement, doesn't it seem likely that they plan to buy rechargeable cells from some OEM and package them?

All in all, I though yesterday's announcement was the most promising hard news we've had since the large insider purchases from August to January -- assuming the rumored connection between Energizer and Valence is true.

Regards, lws

Better cover now Dale or that "whisker" could turn into "beard". :-)
