Achieves 145.9% Increase in First Quarter Net Income as Leasing Revenues Rise 33.2% Represents Company's Ninth Consecutive Record Quarter TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 1999-- Mobile Mini, Inc. (NASDAQ National Market: MINI - news) today announced record results for the three months ended March 31, 1999. The first quarter of 1999 represents the Company's ninth consecutive record quarter. Net income for the 1999 first quarter rose 145.9% to $1,311,000 or $.15 per share from last year's first quarter net income of $533,000 or $.07 per share. Revenues of $13,167,000 for the first quarter were 22.5% ahead of last year's $10,746,000, reflecting primarily increased same-store sales at all branches. Leasing revenues represented 76.0% of total revenues, for the 1999 quarter, compared to 69.9% in last year's first quarter. In a joint statement by Mobile Mini's Chairman, Richard Bunger, President & CEO Steven Bunger and Chief Financial Officer, Larry Trachtenberg, the executives noted, ''1999 started on a strong note with record financial results continuing into the ninth consecutive quarter. We look forward to completing the acquisition of the assets of National Security Containers which, as previously reported, adds three new locations and gives us greater market share in six cities where Mobile Mini already has locations. We are especially pleased by the growth in same-store leasing revenues achieved in the first quarter and by the smooth integration of the three acquisitions completed in 1998. Of note, the number of containers on lease at these three locations has increased by approximately 70% from the date of acquisition.''
