Couple of notes. 1) Thomson I-Watch reports that over 75% of the trading today is Institutional. Don't know where trades between MM's are counted, Misc or Institutional, but there's barely any "Misc." 2) I saw lots of 1000 & 2000 share transactions going by at the bid, but the bid didn't drop (even though bid size was 500 or so). One 1000-share buy comes through and bid and ask both go up. Don't know what this means to anyone else, but to me it means MM's are content to buy stock here but not so interested in selling it. Could be that they are accumulating stock, could be that they are covering their own shorts. -Mike
