SFC, CNN did buy from the Sony-IBM group a system for backup. We asked the Ampex Data Group about this and they said that CNN also bought from Ampex and they did not seem concerned about it. This came from a salesperson who works on government sales primarily though. In addition, the Sony sales person said that they had a sale of the PETABITE system and they would fill the order in ONE YEAR. Ampex has about a month lead time to build a system. The sale of the sony petabite system was to a company that plans to offer archive storage over the internet. I need a little help on the name of the company. It has an "!" in the name and the salesman said a "-net". Chris
