Well, I am both appreciative and offended.

The very idea that I would need lusty assistants. They would only interfere with our deep progress. That you even consider that I would tire suggests that either you understimate your desirability (as a fingerpaint canvas, of course) or you underestimate my dedication to the cause.

As to wanting me to do the job as you desire it done, Madam, I am artiste. Would you tell Mozart how to write concerto? Tell Picasso how to paint? Tell Hemmingway how to -- no, strike that, I have often wanted to tell Hemmingway how to. Or where to. Tell Donne how to write poetry? When I see the canvas (flesh) I will know just where to place my paints and my fingers, what colours will enhance what nooks and crannies, what depth of paint, layers of texture . . . The very idea that I should subliminate my artistic expression to the wishes of the canvas -- unthinkable. Utterly unthinkable.

Place yourself in my hands and my hands alone, and I will assure you of a masterpiece.
