We should have the specs of the new PowerBooks very soon. Inventories are finally very low at MacMall and MacZone. I assume the other houses are similar. And there was that note on MacOSRumors that the whole ComputerWare chain was down to two dozen and had been told by Apple reps to sell the demos. My favorite ComputerWare salesman offered me $150 off the $1999 demo model almost two weeks ago so it sounds legit to me. I'd say ten days or even less. Of course the VPC/RAM deal Apple is offering expires at the end of the month. Marc

Apple will spread FireWire across its product line. We can count on that. I'm curious about when the new Powerbooks will come out. I think its critical that they get the third part of the hardware line up to parity. The Powerbook G3 series is great, but its getting a little stale. They stopped BTO'ing the PBG3s over a month ago, indicating the factories were being retooled for the new line, but no hints as to when the new line would be out. I'm frustrated that its not out yet and that we have no clue when. Dragonfly
