T, The problem is, you don't get the yield. You get the yield less the loss on principal. <g> Even the bond fund I used to manage, now that my numbers have disappeared from the data base, only avgd. 8.9% over the past 10 years. I find that incredibly horrible, given that it has been a bond bull market during that entire period and that bond yields were nearly 9% in 1988. Vanguard GNMA didn't do much better, at 9.07%, even with their low fees. Given that rates on Ginnies were over 10% in 1988, this is a disaster.

I know that I blow and go and make a lot of noise. But I have to say that I could do better than 90% of the bond managers with half my brain tied behind my back. <g>
