Tom,

What struck me about the article was the "gathering of forces opposed to adoption of drdram" was deja vu all over again. More than ever I'm convinced that the manufacturers that had been dragging their feet with regard to RMBS have now created the very problem they are now working feverishly to avoid. I say when you're in a hole, stop digging.

Tom, lets face it. If you made DRAM's for a living, its been a tough world. Some haven't make money for years. Now they are being told to gear up for RMBS. That takes serious money. I can understand their dragging their feet and reaching for short term solutions , wouldn't you? It still doesn't solve the problem for INTC and the OEM's. They will have little to sell without RMBS in their future.

Tom,

Those forces have always been there. Also, Intel owns something like 85% of the PC motherboard market (and all of the major manufacturers use Intel boards, with possible custom work) and those boards are going to use Rambus. So competitive motherboards aren't much of a threat.
