Xilinix missed;

Mike, missed what? XLNX exceeded estimates by .02. Reported .26, expected .24. The .26 number is full diluted and doesn't include a one time charge of 3.6M in the Q. Perhaps the "miss" you are referring to includes this charge.

BTW, I met with a XLNX Area Sales Director today, and its not likely our company will be doing any more ASIC designs. The Virtex family of parts will satisfy all our design needs at prices very competitive with low to mid range ASIC designs. I'd say this is very typical for many, many communications equipment companies. The markets for their and Altera's products is basically exploding. Be very careful shorting/putting these companies. I own no position in XLNX or ALTR. This is just a first hand opinion of a XLNX user.
