Yoda Furbies?

A Furby You Seek, Hmmm?
Wired News Report

12:00 p.m. 20.Apr.99.PDT
Luke Skywalker better get ready to take Jedi lessons from a Furby.

Tiger Electronics, the company that created the immensely popular Furby, is set to
release an Interactive Yoda around September. If the Yoda toy
proves anywhere near as popular as the Furby was last Christmas, the little guys may be
almost impossible to get. Already, scores of customers
have bid on pre-sell offers on Amazon.com and eBay at prices from US$39 to over
$60.

Company spokeswoman Lana Simon stressed that the toy is not a Furby. Well, not
exactly.

"This is an interactive toy that utilizes Furby technology," Simon said. "It will react to its
surroundings and will talk."

But Simon is mum on exactly what the Interactive Yoda will say.

"It will be very Yoda-like, that's all I can tell you," Simon said.

The first hints of what may prove to be a gargantuan promotion of the 'prequel' episode of the Star Wars saga are beginning to filter out. Expect coverage in all forms
of media promoting many goods and services tangentially connected with the premiere. We thought before the clamor began we'd take a look around for companies
that may be involved and could benefit from all the attention that will surely heat up. A few ideas-

The Topps Company TOPP 6s- the trading card company has been edging up since last week when a msn.investor article pointed out it will be producing a series of

One interesting side note- online magazine Wired is reporting that HAS sub Tiger Electronics- the division responsible for the runaway hit toy Furby, is readying
what many are calling a Yoda Furby ( if you don't know know what a Yoda or a Furby are skip down to the General Motors news- you're out of your depth here)

I can't really think of a legend. The telling of stories, the themes, are always repeated. Look at Star Trek (I'm a fan) the stories are always told over and over again. A buddy of mine got me on the set of Voyager. I climbed all around engineering. Sat in the captain's chair. Went to all the different stages. It was really cool. But I guess Star Trek carries on as a legend. Is this what you mean?
