El: I was wondering whether Harvey might be interested in a pint of Guinness, the dark Irish bitter beer with the creamy froth. I know a wonderful Irish pub in London where they serve it draught. He could also enjoy the wild Irish music.

But we still have quarantine laws over here, and unless you were prepared to smuggle him in (and there are not many hats big enough for a 7ft rabbit) he could find himself in some cold, heartless quarantine hutches for six months. On the other hand, being invisible, perhaps he could just leap over the passport control desk at Heathrow. (Would the sniffer dogs be able to detect him?)

Failing that I could have Harrods send you a can of the stuff. If it's too strong mix it with pale ale and the resultant drink is called Black and Tan. It was my first alcoholic drink when I was 18 and after three mouthfuls I was found outside climbing up a lamp post.

I am jealous as I sit in Arawak Cay drinking Kalik at the infamous Fish Fry.
