Recently spoke with ASTN:

Q: Does ASTN foresee any problems from the acquisition of PHLX by AMEX?

A: we do not believe this deal will take place.

AJ. Could you expand on the continuing discussions between NASD and PHLX, regarding the interim technology agreement? And if ASTN is a subject of those discussions?

According to the press release, 'discussions continue to explore other possible alternative structures'...

Not sure how to interpret the press release...

Thanks.

John

AJ this news regards PHLX and AMEX breaking the merging was featured on CNBC in morning and afternoon,so,I did check tradng on ASTN to see a tell-tale mass dumping if this were actually a bad thing by those on top of this---and I saw no such action--plus this part of the release is quite interesting<<This conclusion was outlined in a letter sent from the NASD
to the
PHLX which also suggested that discussions continue to explore other possible
alternative
structures. Those discussions, which are continuing, include working on completing the
details of
an interim technology agreement.>> any views on what that might be about? Max
