<<Too late, but Ish was correct. Bland. Nuoc mam could not have saved it, not with all the edit time in the world.>>

Thanks Jeff, he was a whoos on that one. LLR is losing ground.

Didn't realize today was Earth Day until I heard a thingie on NPR about Gore hiking in some National Park, Shenandoah? not that I care.

Today was also Take Your Child To Work Day, or as Nicholas told Stephanie, my secretary, Take Your Parent To Work Day. She thought that was funny, she said because if he hadn't I wouldn't have shown up. True, but she's gonna get it at Bonus Time.

We got off on the wrong foot because he didn't get dressed up enough to suit me while I was getting dressed, and I was ticked because they stop serving breakfast at the Court House at 10:00 a.m. Once we got that taken care of, we got to the Court House in time for him to have Froot Loops, and for me to have my usual, two scrambled eggs, grits, a biscuit, and coffee. Most of the Court House Regulars had moved on, but I did find a table with a few guys I knew, who regaled us with tales of divorce and Worker's Comp.

Then up to the fifth floor, where we sat in on closing arguments on the only jury case going on today, a minor fender-bender. I could tell that the Plaintiff was gonna lose as soon as I walked in and sat down. I told Nick that the Plaintiff's attorney was giving closing argument, and asked him who he thought would win, based on the jury's body language. He agreed with me. That was about 1 minute after we sat down. We stayed until closing arguments were done, just to be polite. I then showed him the Law Library, Civil Records, and the Land Records, where we looked at the deed to the house we live in.

Back to my office, where he drew pictures while I returned phone calls.

Then, a drive to the federal courthouse, where I tried to find out why one of my cases was dismissed for non-service when I served it in February. The clerk suggested I file a motion, which I had already prepared, and it was in my briefcase, so I filed it, and we left.

We went to Artie's for lunch, which is where I take people I am trying to impress. He had the cheeseburger, I had the pecan-crusted trout. We both had root beer.

Then home.

He thought it was a pretty good day. I agree.
