LT, I am always hedged. What I have is a long premium T-Bond, which, when I'm bearish, I hedge by shorting zero coupon bonds of the same maturity. When I am not quite so bearish, I see at the money calls and buy out of the money puts. Both are fairly well hedged, but the short zeroes are for tops only. Those suckers be volatile.
