Sun's biz is IRON. That iron is proprietary and limited in expandability. PC's + Linux are now positioned to move into the UNIX workstation and server markets:

1. Industry standard vendors backing Linux; Oracle, Sybase,...
2. PC - better price/performance/variety of components & software.
3. 4-8 way x86 configs this year.
4. Reliability/scalability now there with new kernels.
5. No UNIX licensing fees.
6. 7x24 Support is now there through third parties.

I see the shift happening this year; first sign will be workstation sale slowdowns.
