Possible Positive Impact of AT&T Takeover of media One on AOL - -
I don't think this deal, if it occurs , will shut out AOL from cable access. In fact, quite the opposite may come to be true!

Mike Armstrong, the wise CEO of AT&T, has publicly stated in speeches and press releases that his business philosophy would be to make company-owned broadband available to as many potential customers and business partners as possible, presumably for a fee of course.

He seems to realize that developing strategic alliances in the new economy, and "sharing the wealth", if you will, is a win -win situation for both his shareholders and those of other business partners, which would likely include AOL! AT&T would still need access to content and an e-commerce clearinghouse, and this is where AOL rules!
