MB - (but they still have to pay leases, utilities, staff, etc. For them to add that many stores and have lower expenses kind of minds my boggle. I think the janitorial service alone would increase their expenses tremendously. )

If the closest store is any indication, the lease probably isn't a big problem. The strip mall that it's in went downhill when Egghead went Inet a step ahead of the law. GW is probably now considered an anchor store in the Titanic sense. -g-

If you don't provide food, you probably don't need janitors or lawyers for food-poisoning suits.

Regards, Don

Mike, I would tend to agree with you about expenses. It just sounded like you thought they were moving away from B-T-O and direct, which they aren't.

Now, what's "bizarre" about direct? Both you and Earlie have stated this nonsense. I'm not sure if you're kidding.

GTW has always served the "sophisticated" home user. Someone who reads computer rags, and is mainly interested in higher end hw. I think you simply can't accept the fact that this market is large, and apparently getting larger. Not everyone goes to BBY asking, "Waahz dat $do hundrit dolla computa?" <g>.
