Draginfly, WHo ever said that cel would equal the coverage of Ir? Not me. cel just gets the areas of population density. With small villages getting cel coverage all over the third world and bypassing the wired stage they act as areas of low cost phone coverage where people who have a choice will pick lower cost cel over Ir.
It is quite true that the oceans and deserts that have no villages or residents also have no cel coverage. In those areas Ir will serve well. My concern it those areas will not bring enough clients to meet payroll, let alone sunken costs?
Are you an Ir broker/investor? you seem to be able to ignore market and world reality where Ir is concerned..

Dragonfly, wasn't it you who was so tired of threads like this and keeps demanding more proof that Iridium is in serious trouble?

Well here's more proof (btw, everyone should get themselves a subscription to the interactive WSJ; it's awesome):

Iridium LLC's Chief Executive
Quits Abruptly Amid Disarray

By DAVID P. HAMILTON
Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Now Iridium has had both it's CEO and CFO resign. Do you need someone to beat you over the head with a bat that says "Iridium is going down the tubes", before you understand that this stock will do nothing for you but take your money?

For the cooler heads, be very careful about falling in love with a technology. If the company doesn't have a sound business strategy (and top executives are resigning), it may be time to reconsider your investment.
