Stuart, I'll be watching for those photos of Temagami...(-: A couple of years ago, a friend's daughter came back from a week long trip in Temagami and told me, "You've GOT to go!". I haven't been able to get away yet, but I will. I do mostly day-tripping because I have a farm and can't get away for long trips that easily. Luckily there are a lot of great secluded rivers, lakes and marshes in eastern Ontario, so I don't feel too "deprived". However, I'd still like to go on a couple of longer trips this summer and Temagami may well be one of them. And yes, the little Prospector is a great solo canoe...small and light with very nice lines... lots of stability even when you lean it hard to one side when paddling solo. For a small canoe, it also has great load capacity. Last summer I brought a couple of friends along with me for a day trip and we were all surprised to find that the canoe just danced along lightly...almost as lightly as when I'm out alone. It's a nice looking craft too... I like the wood trim. I almost bought a wood and canvas canoe instead (mainly for aesthetic reasons), but I think the kevlar hull trimmed with wood is a nice compromise. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new canoe too. I had a look at the Swift canoes at the Paddlesport show this year and they have a lot of nice looking models. It's great if you can get a chance to try out different canoes before you buy. I'm afraid that choosing a canoe from a catalogue leaves a lot to be desired. Seeing them in person helps a lot, but trying them on the water is the only sure way of finding what you're looking for. Well, I'm hoping for some decent weather this weekend. Time to be out on the water and not just thinking about it...(-: Later, Croc
