I like B5 a lot. And I can't wait till the next three Lord of the Rings movies are out. They should be really really good, considering they each have a budget over $100 million.

I was a big B5 fan until the final season when it just sorta soaped out. But the two-hour features were still excellent.

Regarding source material - the basic premise of B5 struck me as drawing heavily on the theme of Doc Smith's Lensman series. Now that was a set of books I ate slowly with a spoon as a teenager. :-)
