Re: "If there is a mistake in your account you will never get it fixed and no one will call."

If I may ask, why have you kept your account with E-Trade, considering the above? Also, you said you were fixing to open another account. Will you open your new account at E-Trade or somewhere else?

Best wishes,

I2

W,

If you want to appreciate your E Trade account, open an account with Ameritrade. It won't be long before you are much happier with your E trade account.

"Going on 3 years with etrade and fixing to open another account..."

Anyone "fixing" to open anything must be from the South.

Sorry, but I think that expression is funny. I got flamed for using it at a recent consulting meeting, so I get to give you a hard time.

hahahahah

Anyway, congrats to Etrade longs. However, I just went short at 103, we now have a split AND earnings, what else is there to wait for?

Expect poor service once you have an account. A non etrade customer is more important than an existing etrade customer. If there is a mistake in your account you will never get it fixed and no one will call. Other than that everything is great.

Going on 3 years with etrade and fixing to open another account.

I've been an E*Trade customer for over 3 years, too. And overall I've been satisfied with the service...

So long as you don't attempt to trade on busy days or in a fast moving market. For options traders, in particular, effective trading through E*Trade is practically impossible.

E*Trade wants to have it both ways. They encourage their customers to be active traders. But when the rubber hits the road, the service just isn't there.

If there's a better service out there for active traders, sign me up. And I'm going to begin looking. E*Trade has simply cost me too much money recently by fumbling trades, by having an increasingly unreliable web site and virtually non-existent customer service.

I've learned time and again that you simply need to use this limited service for the purpose to which is it truly best suited: to provide low-cost and fair execution of trades in slow moving markets. For any other kind of trading, your guaranteed to get burned sooner or later.

As a customer of E*Trade I couldn't be more dissatisfied. As an investor (bought the stock on a day when the web site actually functioned <8)), I couldn't be happier.
