I have some of those old figures...some were compiled by Dr. Johnson 5 years ago++. I decided not to post them also. Have not as U say, only the company should. What is interesrting is that J&L started years ago with reseach on the Crater Ore.( No Austin Lett partnership at the time, I understand) Chuca I posted this again last night, one of the ingrediants was citric acid in the Early DD Formulas: DISSOLUTION AND ANALYSIS OF COMPLEX ORES MOST IMPORTANT, DRY AND PULVERIZE A REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE OF ORE TO 100% -200 ~ESH. ½ Accurately weigh 2.5000 or 5.0000 grams of the prepared sample into a 250 ml class ~ Volumetric flask (preferably a Phosphoric flask). Add 25 ml of concentrated. nitric acid mix and digest near 100 deqrees C for abou 15 minutes or until the reaction ceases. Remove from heat, COOL then add 80-100 mls of concentrated hydrochloric acid to the volumetic flask. Replace on the heat source and digest at a simmer(not a boil) for 18-24 hours.* Remove the digested samples frorn the heat source, cool, add 10-15 ml conc.HCL, and dilutet to volume (250 ml) with disti1led water and mix well. Filter a ~ortion of the sample and analyze for the ) desired metals using only HIGH RESOLUTION ( Crossed out is ICP here) or D.C.P. at the desired wavelengths. CALCULATIONS (ICP/DCP READING) (VOLUME) (0.02917) SAMPLE WEIGHT OZ SHORT TON Time can be adjused as required for the ore Hiqh silver requires a smaller sample to prevent silver fallout If further dilutions are are required the calculations must be adjusted. concentrated nitric acid is used FIRST to oxidize any unstable metals to their more stable state.
