Jean Chicago, IL - NEC Technologies Inc., announced that TouchPass(tm) is now available for Windows(R) 95/98, in addition to the Windows NT operating system. TouchPass is a biometric-based access control system that enables computer and network access by scanning and recognizing an authorized user's finger image, eliminating the dangers and frustrations associated with traditional password access. TouchPass secures LAN, WAN, and dial-up network connections, using a special Windows graphical identification and authentication module that validates network log-ons through finger imaging. Furthermore, system administrators have complete central control over user registration. Registered users can gain access to the network through a strongly encrypted communications protocol.
