It's becoming ever-increasingly important for PR firms doing business with online casinos & sportsbooks to be very diligent and aggressive with respect to promotion. There are nearly 400 casino and sportsbook sites similar to this one accessible in the English speaking language alone now up and running. With several hundred additional entrants expected within a year, promotion is becoming paramount. CSIN as I understand plans on spending upwards of $1 million USD on advertising over the next year or so which is probably what it's going to take to garner $5 million monthly as a gross handle within a year. Not to negate their chances of success, but, it's likely going to take a considerable amount of time and expense to reach profitability. The reason being lots of companies, Indian tribes, celebrities and individuals are lining up to own their own sites because they are now considerably less expensive to license and operations are turn-keyed. The Aussies are going gaga for online casinos as well and have effectively banned their citizens from gambling in the Caribbean. The best returns for investors in the Internet casino sector will likely be from development companies who profit from revenue streams and licensee fees, etc. rather than from profits on individual licensee web sites. The heavy hitting action on April 26, 1999 that you refer to hopefully will come from real-money customers rather than from guests.
