Cyrix will also introduce the first single-chip solution this year." Yes, in deference to Paul and others, so cyrix says. <ggg> The question is, if M-3 comes, just how great an advantage may it be? The only one-chip solution...will it be fast? <ggg> Does it effectively lose some buss bottlenecks Intel won't?

Cyrix may beat Intel to intro on this. I will be curious to compare Timna to Cyrix performance/price wise. I'll give you this one, for now. Too many unknowns. "As for SMP, there are 12 way K7 chipsets in the works. K7 and M3 DRDRAM solutions are in the pipeline too." Will these come out before Profusion and Camino? Merced - 64 bit architecture under development for Enterprise solutions "Yawn." I plan on working here for a while. I'm glad my employer has even the resources to commit to 64 bit architectures. Understand also, Merced is a necessary step before McKinley. As I have said before, my time line allows patience in some areas. PB
