As I see it now, ISP's like Excite come to Intel and say we want to outsource our server farm. You built it and they will come. Intel uses it's manufacturing expertise and capital (these things will cost $50-$100 million) to create these "bit factories" for the .com companies.

Analogously, retailers hire developers to build their stores for them. Then the retailer runs them. Intel will run these bit factories on a contractual basis, I guess, as a service.

IOW, while the ISP's fight for share of the consumers e-commerce dollar, Intel will be selling the bullets.

Sounds good to me.
